National Brownout

Things have gotten so bad I find myself learning from, nodding along with, and enjoying one of Thomas Friedman's columns, this one on using fiscal policy to influence energy policy:

  1. I was just about to post something about the gas tax holiday. It sounds like the national equivalent of the class president candidate declaring, "there will be no homework if I'm elected." This shit better fuckin' backfire on Hilarity F. Clixlung and Jensen Ronald MaqCoombes.

In other old news, congestion pricing was defeated in Albany and Ken Livingstone is now taking alot of guff in London. I'm sorry, I'm not much of a populist on this issue. Everyone just has to bite the bullet here. NO FUCKING PRIVATE VEHICLES IN MANHATTAN, EVER!

  2. I just got an e-mail from my Kuwaiti pen-pal. It is not good news. And I quote: Recently, my Doctor told me that I would not last for the next Eight months due to a cancer problem. The one that disturbs me most is my stroke sickness.

That stroke sickness is a bitch. My grandfather had that. Interestingly enough, my other grandfather had a cancer problem.
